YVONNE POSEY LANSING Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Yvonne Posey Lansing will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Ertel Chapel. Yvonne was born on December 23, 1952 in Cortez the daughter of Edgar Buffalo and Sarah Posey. She passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Four Corners Nursing Home in Durango at the age of 57. Yvonne spent many years working for the Ute Mountain Tribe where she held many capacities. She spent time driving school buses, working in dispatch and as a bookkeeper. In her spare time, Yvonne enjoyed beadwork, making moccasins, and writing poetry. Surviving Yvonne are her husband, Stacy Lansing of Towaoc; her daughter, Mollett Lansing of Towaoc; her half-brother, Paul Fields Sr. of Towaoc; her brothers-in-law, Norman Lansing of Arboles, Colo. and Herbert Lansing Jr. of Denver; her half-sister, Melody Fields of Towaoc; and her first cousins, Michael Hayes Elkriver, Ricky Hayes, Ira Hayes, Gary Hayes, and Byron Hayes, all of Towaoc. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Sherwin Zac Lansing; by her siblings, Sue Rose Buffalo, Aletha Jaramille, and Samuel Rock Buffalo; and by her half-siblings, Gaylene Hatch, Cynthia Fields, Raenne Fields, and Beverly Posey.
