WILMA MECA LADD JOHNSON LINDQUIST Memorial services for former Cortez resident Wilma Meca Ladd Johnson Lindquist will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 27 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate. Wilma was born in Norwood, Colo. on July 24, 1934 and grew up in Ridgway and Dove Creek. Wilma passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Grand River Hospital in Rifle, Colo. at the age of 82. Wilma and James Emery Lindquist were married on July 27, 1952 and to this union they welcomed four children, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Wilma's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved getting visits, pictures and phone calls from her family around the country. She also had a special spot in her heart for her pets and grand pets. Wilma is survived by her children, Jim (Cheryl) Lindquist of Cortez, Lori (Eddie) Archibeque of Venetia, Penn., Terry (Judi) Lindquist of Houston, Tex., and DeeDee (James) Booth of Rifle, Colo. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ryann (Kevin) Gale, Derek (RJ Young) Lindquist, Roman (Misty) Garcia, Tyra (Clem Rangel) Lindquist, Rodney (Krystal Johnson) Archibeque, Erin (Timothy) Baker, Lacey (Brian) Mucha, Kylie (Shane) Henry, Maddison (Lee Gahrett) Booth; and by her great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Gale, Jaxon Henry, Elle Garcia, Cache Garcia, Owen Henry, Weston Mucha, and Aiden Lindquist. Wilma also leaves behind her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jerry Barlow; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Johnson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
