WILLMA L. FLAUGH Memorial services for Willma L. Flaugh will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 at the Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church. Pastors Steve and Kim Nofel will officiate. Willma was born the daughter of Harry LaFay and Minnie Mae (Wyatt) Rowe in Marvel, Colo. She passed away at Vista Grande Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, November 23, 2006 on her birthday. On January 1, 1939 Willma married Herbert Carver Flaugh in Marvel. They shared 32 years of marriage before his death in 1971. For years Flaugh Construction sponsored several bowling leagues. Willma loved bowling on Monday nights and Wednesday mornings with her dear friends. She was an avid Broncos and Rockies fan. So many people from Cortez will remember Willma as the “Goose Lady” caring for the local geese that chose to spend their time on Flaugh’s Pond. She also had a soft spot for her beloved cats. Most important to Willma were her children and grandchildren who brought her great joy. Surviving Willma are her children, Sandra L. Clark of Cortez; Don C. Flaugh of Cortez; and Von R. Flaugh also of Cortez. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Cayley Flaugh Hall, Rebecca Flaugh, Keegan Flaugh, Erin Davidson, Shannon Thol, Herb Clark and Sara Thomas and 13 great grandchildren; her twin brother, William Rowe and his wife, Audrey of Marvel; a very special niece, Jane Campbell of Marvel; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Willma was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Minnie Rowe; husband, Herbert C. Flaugh; son-in-law, Bruce Clark; daughter-in-law, Rheba Flaugh; two sisters, Florence Bass and Viola Briggs and her husband, Clayton.
