WILLIS LEWTON “LEWT” WALTON Services for Mancos resident, Willis Lewton “Lewt” Walton will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 28 at St. Rita Mission in Mancos. Father Derrek D. Scott will be officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Rosary services will be held Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at St. Rita Mission. Lewt was born the son of Harley E. Walton and Marcheta (Smith) Walton on January 21, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nev. He passed away at his home in Mancos on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the age of 41. Lewt loved working with the elderly, volunteering at Valley Inn Nursing Home. In his free time he enjoyed working with wood. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and supported the Alzheimer’s Association. Surviving Lewt are his mother, Marcheta Newholm of Mancos; his father, Harley Walton of Sparks, Nev.; his grandmother, Glee Smith of Mancos; two sisters, Peggy Halls and husband, Keith of Mancos and Kim Lipe of Dolores; and his brother, Scott Walton and wife, Karleen of Mancos. His uncle, Leslie “Boots” Smith of Tucumcari, N.M.; 12 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews also survive Lewt. Three brothers, Joe Walton, Todd Walton and Jess Walton preceded Lewt in death. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Willis “Lewt” Walton at the Mancos Valley Bank.
