WILLIE ALICE QUALLS Willie Alice Qualls passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colorado October 24, 2010. She was 90 years young and so full of life. She has gone to join her husband Lindy Qualls, the love of her life. Willie was born to D.J. and Allie Mae McChristy January 10, 1920 in El Centro, California. She worked at the Cinderella Dress Shop in El Centro for eighteen years and moved to Tierrasanta, California upon her retirement with her husband Lindy. Mrs. Qualls and her husband were lifetime residents of Imperial Valley and owned and operated Qualls and Lyon Union Oil Company for 40 years. In the later years she lived with her daughter and husband in Cortez, Colorado. She is survived by her son Jim Qualls and wife Barbara of San Diego, California, daughter Vicki Blackman and husband Harry of Cortez, Colorado, sister Dorothy Mae Douglas of Kingman, Arizona, Grandchildren, Michael Blackman and wife Kimberly of Escondido, California, Todd Blackman and wife Cindy of Murrieta, California, Scott Blackman and wife Teresa of Portland, Oregon, Dwayne Qualls of San Diego, California, Tracy Qualls of La Mesa, California, Bryan Qualls and wife Claudia of El Cajon, California and sixteen great-grandchildren. We will love and miss you always and you will always be the wind beneath our wings. Rest in peace Mom. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro, California.
