WAYNE NORRIS DAVES Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident Wayne Norris Daves will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 7 at Arriola Bible Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 2 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Wayne was born on October 14, 1944 in Cortez the son of James Floyd and Glennis Ardena (Atkinson) Daves. He passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Surviving Wayne are his loving wife, Susan Daves of Dolores; and his children, William Floyd Daves and Paula Elaine Podgornoff. Wayne also leaves behind four grandchildren, Robert Charles McDonnell, Katherine Megan McDonnell, Caleb Wayne Podgornoff, and Caroline Beth Podgornoff; and his siblings, Earlene White, Marlin Daves, Kay Daves, Eddie Daves, Woodie Daves, Stanley Daves, and Linda Rehmert. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; by his granddaughter, Madison Elaine Podgornoff; and by his siblings, Beverley Wood, Sue Dunagan, James Daves, and Bobby Joe Daves.
