WARREN SAMUEL WALDORF Warren Samuel Waldorf was born on December 16, 1925 in Winfield, Kan., the son of Samuel Judson and Carrie Ethel (Stillwell) Waldorf. He passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home at the age of 81. On December 24, 1946, Warren married Wanda Aliene Beltz in Winfield, Kan. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past December. Warren was a founder of the Four Corners Jeep Club. He was also a member of the Mancos V.F.W. and was a past Commander of the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Warren was involved with Little League having coached teams over the years, and he also helped to organize the Good Sams Club. He was very passionate about inventing and innovation. Warren loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. Surviving Warren are his wife, Wanda Aliene Waldorf of Cortez; his children, Beverly Carter of Cortez, Dan Waldorf and girlfriend, Cindy Conway of Arriola, and Tammy Lindsay and husband, Grant of Cortez; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kathy Waldorf-Johnson; two brothers and four sisters. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled later this spring.
