WALTER CALVIN SITTON Walter Calvin Sitton was born to Clyde and Iva Sitton on February 3, 1934 in Zafra, Oklahoma. He passed away in his home on December 6, 2017. In 1946, when Walter was 12, his parents were baptized in the Church of the First Born and relocated their family to Cortez where the church is located. Walter was baptized in 1960. He graduated from MCHS in 1954. After high school he joined the Army, and served from 1956-1959. After the Army, he married Milda Jo Carver on October 23, 1959. To this union 8 children were born. Walter was well known and respected among the community. He built many homes and businesses throughout Montezuma County as a Contractor. Walter is survived by his wife, Milda; his children, David and his wife, Pam, Donna and her husband, Bert, Tommy and his wife, Eva, Bobby and his wife, Marla, Gina and her husband, Cliff, Kristin and her husband, Rob. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Iva Sitton; his brother, Bob Sitton; his sisters, Bernice Duncan and Vera Beene; his daughters, Joan Colcord and Kristy Sitton. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held at Arriola Cemetery, Saturday December 9, 2017 at 10 a.m.
