W. DUANE CHRISTIANSEN Graveside inurnment services for longtime Cortez resident, W. Duane Christiansen will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd at the Cortez Cemetery. Duane was born on September 13, 1937 in Colorado Springs, Colo. the son of Wilbur Donald and Ora Mae (Bumgarner) Christiansen. He passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the New Mexico Heart Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. Duane was 68 years old. Surviving Duane are his wife, Naomi Rose Christiansen; his children, Jimmie Christiansen and fiancé, Kristine Panuho of Graham, Wash., Johnny Christiansen and friend, Rosemary Donahoo of Aztec, N.M., Janice Martinez, and Janet Gipe both of Cortez; he leaves his grandchildren, Jeremy Strong, Jennifer McDonald, Jessica Webster, John Chance Christiansen, and Amber Jade Gipe. His two great-grandchildren, Sierra Strong, and Jeremy Strong, Jr.; as well as his siblings, George “Bud” Christiansen and wife, Rose of Ashland, Neb., Wilbur “Chris” Christiansen and wife, Ursala of Jefferson, Colo., Harvey Christiansen and wife, Nellie of Penrose, Colo., Maxine Cisneros of Canon City, Colo., Leona Foster and husband, John of Grants Pass, Oreg.; and his sister-in-law, Mary Christiansen of Calhan, Colo. also survive Duane. Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandson, Jonathon Christiansen; and his brother, J.D. Christiansen. Memorial contributions can be made in Duane’s memory to the DaVita Dialysis Center in Cortez.
