VIRGINIA MARY ORTEGA

Graveside services for Virginia Mary Ortega will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Dove Creek Cemetery.

Virginia was born August 23, 1933 in Telluride, Colo. the daughter of Delifido and Sulema (Gonzales) Garcia. She passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 90.

Surviving Virginia are her children, Doris Kimmel (Jack) of Cortez, Mark Ortega of Cortez, Tresa Bumgarner of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ramona Winfield of Grand Junction, Colo., and Anna Gonzales of Tucson, Ariz.; by her siblings, Carla Jay of Reno, Nev. and Richard Garcia of Walla Walla, Wash.; and by 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Bill Ortega; by her son, Billy Ortega; by her daughter, Susan Torres;  by her siblings, Delifido Garcia, Bert Garcia, Louis Garcia, and Ross Garcia; and by her grandchild, Alex Bumgarner.
