VIRGINIA LOIS MILLER Graveside services for lifelong Cortez resident Virginia Lois Miller will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 8 at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Lois was born November 11, 1936 in Lewis, Colo. the daughter of Linley F. and Willie Ann (Carver) Leonard. She passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 76. Lois married Paul Hanford Miller and to this union two sons were born, Jerry and Terry. Lois worked at Valley National Bank and then at Empire Electric for 20 years. She loved to shop, crochet, and collect bird figurines. Lois took great interest in her son's activities and a favorite one was to watch them play baseball. On October 23, 2010, Lois married William O. Criswell. Surviving Lois are her mother, Willie Ann (Carver) Leonard of Cortez; and son, Jerry Miller of Cortez. Lois also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brandie Miller, Blake Miller and Kyle Miller all of Cortez, Jory Miller of Durango, Colo.; great-grandson, Noah Miller; her brother, Chet Leonard and wife, Jeannie of Lewis, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father; son, Terry Miller; brother, Paul Leonard; and husband, William Criswell in January of 2013.
