VICTOR GALLEGOS Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident, Victor Gallegos will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Derrick D. Scott will be officiating. A prayer vigil has been scheduled at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Catholic Church. Victor was born on February 6, 1934 in Cebolla, N.M. the son of Adolpho and Eufemia (Gurule) Gallegos. He passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at his residence in Cortez at the age of 71. In 1972 Victor married Roberta Sanchez in Denver, Colo. Victor worked as a house painter for Mike's Painting and Drywall for many years. He loved fishing, hunting and woodworking. The outdoors was a passion of Victor's. Surviving Victor are his wife, Roberta Gallegos of Cortez; his children, Tricia Lemke and husband, Steve of Omaha, Neb., Sonja Alvarez and husband, Vinnie of Cortez, Sonny Rodriguez and wife, Cindy of Grand Junction, Colo., Julia Mirabel and husband, Vince of Arizona, and Victoria Rodriguez of Grand Junction. He leaves two grandchildren, Sierra and Nathan Gallegos both of Cortez; and his siblings, Carmelita Archibeque and husband, Mike, and Adonais 'Ed' Gallegos all of Cortez. Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Delphina Gallegos; and his brothers, Pete, Gilbert and Domingo Gallegos. Memorial contributions can be made in Victor's memory to Hospice of Montezuma.
