Velma Marie Osterfeld

Velma Marie Osterfeld was born December 17, 1927 at her grandparent’s home in Lebanon, CO to William ‘Bill’ and Ethel (Caylor) Pritchett. She passed away at her daughter’s home in rural Dolores, CO on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Velma was 94.
Velma went to school at Lebanon and Arriola grade schools, Garret Ridge High School, and graduated from Dolores High School in 1945. After graduation she worked for four years as the secretary in the Dolores High School office.
Velma married Edward ‘Pete’ Osterfeld on March 17, 1948. Kathy Marie was born in April, 1953. The family moved to Delaney Mines until September, 1956 when Martha Ann was born. They then returned to Arriola to farm and raise their family. Velma worked at Woolworth’s from 1963 to 1985 when she retired. Velma and Edward started rock hunting and traveled to many western states.
Surviving Velma are her daughters, Kathy Jacobs (George) of Dolores, CO, and Martha Robinson (Larry) of Dolores, CO; one grandson, David Robinson (Cassie); and three great grandson’s, Braden Rust, Levi Robinson, and Aaden Robinson. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Edward Osterfeld; and her brother, Chet Prichett.
