Velma Dee Sherman

VELMA DEE SHERMAN Velma Dee Sherman was born May 12, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Okla. the daughter of Arthur Reed and Edith Beatrice (Linden) Lee. She passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. Velma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed knitting and needlework. Velma loved cats. When she was a young woman, Velma loved to dance and she was a dancer in a folk dance group. Surviving Velma are her children, Duane Sherman and Elaine Sherman, both of Cortez; and by her siblings, Clair Lee (Margaret) of Fort Collins, Colo., and Derrold Lee (Ruby) of Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Iris Gene Barrett.
