TWILA DOREEN LIVINGSTON Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident Twila Doreen Livingston will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12 at Cortez Cemetery. Doreen was born October 22, 1930 in Lincoln, Kans. to Thomas Walter and Maude Etna (Rathbun) Cox. She passed away at her home on Friday, December 7, 2013 at the age of 83. On December 17, 1949 in Cortez, Doreen married George Edward Livingston and they shared nearly 64 years of marriage. Doreen was a member of the Choraleers and was very active in monthly meetings of the Cortez High School Class of '48. She was also a very active member of the First Assembly of God Church. Doreen worked in the Cortez school cafeterias for several years. She liked working with her hands and loved to cross stitch, crochet, sew, knit and do craft painting. Doreen also attended a weekly women's Bible study. Doreen is survived by her loving husband, George Livingston of Cortez; three daughters, Denise Ann Livingston, Deena Marie Mills and husband, Dean, and Georjean E. Livingston all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; granddaughters, Heather Marie Caporiccio and husband, Ronald Anderson of Yuba City, Calif., Arianne C. Harris and husband, Clay of Evergreen, Colo., Jessica Vandagriff and husband, Kevin of Charleston, S.C., Melissa Ann Mills of Charleston, S.C., and Ashley Jackson Novander and husband, Ken Novander of Denver, Colo.; grandsons, Justin Welmon and wife, Valerie of Fort Worth, Tex., Zachary Mills and wife, Nadia of Seattle, Wash., Joshua Chambers-Mills and wife, Kaitlin of Beale Air Force Base, California, Andrew Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Alexander Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great grandson, Spencer Michael Vandagriff of Charleston, S.C.; and sisters, Chloris Coppinger and DeLouris Tozer both of Cortez. Preceding Doreen in death are her parents, Thomas and Maude Cox; her infant son, Douglas Edward Livingston; and her brother, Eugene Cox.
