TIMOTHY MARK PHILO Memorial services for Mancos resident Timothy Mark Philo will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28 at the Cortez Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate. Tim was born on October 30, 1957 in Seoul, Korea the son of Rev. Dr. L.C. and Bessie Lillian (White) Philo. He passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 51. Tim worked the majority of his life as a cowboy and wrangler. He had been employed by Eric Bartel and the Mancos Stage Line. In his free time, Tim loved to surf, climb mountains, hang glide, fly and ride horses. A voracious reader, Tim had a great love and appreciation for the Native American culture. He loved art and ran an art gallery for a short time. Tim was also a plumbing apprentice and he went to school for a nursing degree that he was never able to finish. Tim was introduced to politics by his brother-in-law, Jim. Surviving Tim are his sister, Rebecca Lynn Harris and husband, James of University Park, Ill.; his nieces and nephews, Leilani, Malati, Luana, Dana, Danny, Douglas. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. L.C. Philo and Bessie Philo; by his siblings, Daniel C. Philo, Lt. David H. Philo, and Deborah Sue Philo; and by his nephew, David Willard.
