THOMAS HOUSE SR.

Funeral services for lifelong area resident Thomas House Sr. will be held ay 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ertel Chapel.
Thomas was born October 3, 1924 in Mancos Canyon, Colo. the son of the last traditional Chief, Jack House and Flora Ketchum. He passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 96.
Surviving Thomas are his children, Emily Whiteman, Loma House, Beverly House, Jack House (Carol) Lorna and Janesha House, Blair House Sr. (Darlene), Thomas House Jr. (Fernanda), Kevin House (Charlotte), Radona Tom, Blaine House, and Selwyn Whiteskunk Sr. all of Towaoc; by his sisters, Mona Ketchum, Ida Peog, Lorraine and Rose House; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Jessie Root House; by his children, the late Chairman, Ernest House Sr., Rodrick House, Johnny House, Rupert Whiteskunk; by his step-son, Alvin Aaron Root; and by his siblings, Asa House and Leon Collins Sr.
