THOMAS DODD HARRIS Memorial services for Thomas Dodd Harris of Lewis, Colo. will be held Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at the Lewis Arriola Community Center, 21176 Road S (6 miles north on Highway 491, turn left on Road S). Elder David Harris will officiate. A potluck dinner for family and friends will follow at the Community Center. Dodd was born September 19, 1922 in Eagar, Ariz. to John Dodd and Anella (Slade) Harris and passed away Sunday, May 6 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. He was the second of eight children, having one older brother, four younger brothers and two sisters. Dodd and Glenna Jean Retherford were married March 23, 1981 in Dove Creek, Colo. He served in the US Navy on the USS Dempsey during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and Mancos VFW. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, Southwest Cattlemen’s Association and CCA. Dodd loved to dance, paint and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dodd is survived by his wife, Glenna Harris and by his five children; Carol Brown, Vicki Broderick and husband, Earl; Gary Harris and wife, Lori; Wendell Harris, Sandy Lard and husband, Ralph and step-daughter Gayel Alexander and husband, Phil. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Kristie Wagner and husband, Jim; Roni Anthony and husband, Scott; Melissa Chaffin and husband, Bert; Steven Dedloff and wife, Kassandra; Shadyne Neeley and husband, Brandon; Amanda Scherer, Brittney Harris, Katylyn Alexander, Emily Harris and Bobbie Dodd Keeling; seven great grandchildren, Miranda Fitchett, Shandi Wagner, Dawnovan Chaffin, Justyne Anthony, Grant Anthony, Jayden Dedloff and Cimmeron Scherer. He is also survived by his brother, Dick Harris and sister, Donna Lee Law and their families. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dodd Harris with the Lewis Arriola Fire Department, PO Box 10, Lewis, Colo. 81327 or Southwest Memorial Hospital Ambulance Fund, 1311 N. Mildred Road, Cortez.
