Theresa Christensen, 71, passed away on August 13, 2021 in Durango, CO due to natural causes. She was born to Elizabeth (Barger) and Clinton Blakeslee in Wichita, KS.
Theresa attended the University of Kansas where she studied Commercial Art. She also attended West Texas State and enjoyed painting and various artistic adventures throughout her life. Theresa was known for her quiet nature paired with a match-stick temper. She married Robert Traweek, Harvest, AL in 1971. They lived in Louisiana for several years before she later moved to Pavillion, WY where she lived for several years working for her dad at the Robber’s Roost and met Pat Christensen and numerous life-long friends.
Theresa moved to Cortez, CO in the late 80’s where her son still resides and where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the residence of Nick and Dani Traweek, 21241 Rd. N, Cortez at 4:00 pm. No flowers or donations are requested at this time. The family would like to ask anybody who would like to join come prepared with a story to share.
Theresa is preceded in death by her brother, Clinton Blakeslee III; mother, Elizabeth and father, Clinton Blakeslee Jr. Theresa is survived by her son, Nick Traweek (Dani); sisters, Norma Chavez (Pete), and Marilyn Fingerlin (John); brother, Doug Blakeslee; aunt, Carole Cottrell; significant-other, Pat Christensen; grandchildren, Nicki Krob, Ty, Noble, Tray, Corbin and Maisie Traweek; and one great grandchild, Iris Krob.
