THEODORE ORVILLE “TED” HAMPTON Funeral services for Theodore Orville “Ted” Hampton, a resident of Dove Creek, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Ted was born January 31, 1937 at Lebanon, Colo. He passed away at his home in Dove Creek on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the age of 70. On February 15, 1989, Ted married Betty Lou Murray in Nashua, Iowa. In the past, Ted had done work for N.A.S.A. and he was involved in the tool and die trade. He was active in California motorcycle clubs and Ted enjoyed making jewelry, painting, listening to music and computers. Surviving Ted are his children, Margaret Hampton, Tommy Hampton, Leland Hampton, Kennelyn Piperata; numerous grandchildren; and his siblings, Virginia Anne (Hampton) Trusty and husband, J.T. of Moab, Utah, Jack Merle Hampton and wife, Gay of Longmont, Colo., and William Henry Hampton and wife, Katie of Grand Junction, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bette Lou Hampton in June 2006; and his siblings James Robert Hampton, Roberta Jean (Hampton) Haught, and Albert Lee Hampton.
