Terry Mike Lynn, 58, of Cortez, Colorado passed away on Monday, October 1st, 2018 in Williston, North Dakota in a vehicle accident. Terry was pulled over in construction when a distracted semi driver ran into the back of his stopped truck. Terry was an exemplary man who never met anyone he couldn’t consider family; he always brought laughter to a room and had a good Tombstone quote at the ready.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00, Tuesday, October 9th at the Lewis Arriola Community Center. Burial will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A potluck dinner will be held at the Lewis Arriola Community Center after the burial.
Terry was born in Cortez, Colorado to Vondelle (Wagner) and Charles Leroy Lynn on January 12th, 1960. He married Becky Morris on June 27th, 1981 in Cortez, Colorado. Together they had two wonderful children, Casey and Darcy Lynn and four beautiful grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Becky Lynn, his children; daughter Darcy Lynn with Mark Wold, and son Casey Lynn and wife Morgan; his grandchildren, Kaiden Culbertson, Tucker Lynn and Bryer Lynn, and Mark’s son Brooks Wold; and his mother and father-in-law, Buck and Betty Morris.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Steve Lynn and his brother-in-laws, Micah Morris and John Morris.
Terry lived in Cortez until 2013 when he and his family relocated to Alexander, North Dakota. Terry worked for PTW Energy Services in Alexander and was planning on retiring in July of 2019. Terry had a way with people; working with him was like working with family. Everyone he worked with thought of it as an extended family more than co-workers.
He was set to travel with his wife, Becky, and enjoy the life he had worked so hard to build. Terry passed away with a full heart; he said it nearly every day. He couldn’t have been happier with how everything in his life was going right now.
The family would like to stress the dangers of distracted driving and the horrible effects it can have.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Terry Lynn's name at Dolores State Bank.
