TERRY LEE MAESTAS Funeral services for former Dolores resident, Terry Lee Maestas will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Father Derrek D. Scott will be officiating. A Prayer vigil has been scheduled for Tuesday evening at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Terry was born on July 29, 1947 in Durango, Colo. the son of Abe B. and Maxine (Lucero) Maestas. He passed away on Friday, December 16, 2005 at the San Juan Regional Hospital in Farmington at the age of 58. Terry was raised in Dolores and graduated from Dolores High school. He went on to a career in the oil business working as a driller on the oil rigs. This was a job he took great pride in. Terry was known for his great sense of humor and for always being happy and laughing all of the time. He enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished artist, and he deeply loved his children. Surviving Terry are his parents, Abe B. Maestas of Farmington, N.M., and Maxine Maestas of Cortez; his children, Angelique Frank and husband, Justin of Bayfield, Colo., Derek Maestas of Santa Maria, Calif., and Terry Lee Maestas, Jr. of Farmington, N.M. His four grandchildren; his brother, Ronnie W. Maestas of Farmington; as well as one uncle, three aunts, and several cousins; and his son Lee’s mother, Tammie Rushing of Farmington survive Terry. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Joe and Mary Lucero; and his sister, Darlene Maestas.
