TERRY JAMES MARTINEZ Memorial services for Cortez resident Terry James Martinez will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Dave Martinez will officiate. Terry was born February 28, 1972 in Farmington, N.M., the son of Emiliano Alfred and Ida Marie (Buffington) Martinez. He passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at his residence at the age of 35. Terry enjoyed time spent on the computer. He made many friends during his time online. Terry’s nieces and nephews were very special to him. Surviving Terry are his parents, Emiliano Martinez of Dove Creek and Marie Martinez also of Dove Creek; his brothers, Emiliano Benny Martinez and wife, Stacy of Bayfield, Colo., Geoffrey Shane Martinez of Dove Creek, and Zachary Wayne Martinez and wife, Ana of Bayfield, Colo.; his nieces Bailey Dawn Martinez and Jasmine Marie Martinez; his nephews, Isaiah Wayne Martinez, Quinton Terry Martinez, and Emiliano Tyson Shane Smith, his grandparents, Erma Buffington of Dove Creek and Benny and Loyloa Martinez of Cortez; and many aunts and uncles. Terry was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Buffington; and his sister, Debra Dawn Martinez.
