SUSAN LEE TAYLOR Graveside services for Susan Lee Taylor will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the Redmesa Cemetery in Redmesa, Colo. Susan passed away unexpectedly at her home near Redmesa on Monday morning May 2, 2011. She was born to Al and Leda Greger in Bronx, N.Y. June 23, 1943. She grew up in the Bronx attending school all the way through a 2-year associate degree. She worked for several hospitals and the City Universities of New York. Susan is survived by her husband, Duane Taylor of Redmesa; son, Fred Corsino of Utica N.Y.; step children, Karen Townsend of Castle Rock, Colo., Kristi Black of Blanding, Utah, Karla Carcamo of Buckey, Ariz., and Rick Taylor of Venal, Utah; and 11 grandchildren. Susan moved here after marrying Duane in 1998 where they resided on their small family farm, until her passing. Susan worked in Durango at Mercy Regional Medical Center as Same Day Care Secretary until her retirement about a year and a half ago. She was perfectly content to be a homemaker and a wife during her retirement. Susan had a great zest for life, had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed the grandchildren! She would shop in catalogues beginning in about July for Christmas presents that would be just right! Christmas was her favorite holiday! Like her father, Susan was a talented artist, although she was unable to do much in later years because of arthritis. She was a wonderful cook!! She loved cooking and would read cooking magazines and watch food and cooking TV shows and test the recipes on Duane! One of her favorite cooking shows was the old “Two Fat Ladies” series! In lieu of sending flowers (although Sue loved them) please make contributions to the American Diabetes Society, as she was diabetic for many years and would have loved so very much for a cure to be found!
