STEVEN BRADLEY “STEVE” HIGMAN Memorial services for Steven Bradley “Steve” Higman will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Steve was born on August 16, 1957 in Cortez, the son of Dale Wentworth and Lettie Belle “Tiny” (Green) Higman. He passed away on Monday, October 15, 2007 in Grand Junction, Colo. at the age of 50. Steve served his country with the United States Navy. He gained a lot of valuable knowledge during his service time. Steve was an Electronics Technician and received an Expeditionary Medal for his contributions during the Iran Crisis. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Steve was commissioned a First Class Petty Officer. Being very knowledgeable in the electronics field, Steve gained certification through Cisco and Microsoft. In his free time, Steve enjoyed skiing, photography, golfing, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, team roping, and camping. Surviving Steve are his mother, Tiny Higman of Cortez; his daughters, Rori and Rowen of Grand Junction; and his brothers, Larry Higman and wife, Cindy of Castle Rock, Colo., and Donnie Higman of Mancos. He was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Melodie Ann Hill. A college fund has been set up at Vectra Bank to assist Steve’s daughters. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the fund in Steve’s memory.
