STANLEY “DARRELL” CHRISTY Funeral services for Stanley “Darrell” Christy will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 23 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Peel Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Sunday evening beginning at 6 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Stanley “Darrell” Christy, 67 years old of Phoenix, Ariz. passed away October 18, 2006 after an 11 year battle with cancer. Darrell was born July 16, 1939 in Liberal, Kans. to Noah Hadley Christy and Verna Mae (Phelps) Christy. For over 48 years Darrell worked as a miner, farmer, and heavy equipment mechanic retiring in 2004. He enjoyed camping, square dancing, and hunting. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Doyel, for 49 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, daughter and husband, Peggy and Brian Neely of Phoenix, Ariz.; son and wife, Allan and Sherri Christy of Dallas, Tex.; granddaughters, Gloria and Mackenzie Neely of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister and husband, Verna and Fred Genschorck and family of Georgia; his mother-in-law, Ruby Doyel of Cortez; and multitudes of extended family and dear friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his father and mother; and Raymond Doyel his father-in-law. Donations may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley at 1510 E.
