Funeral services for Towaoc resident Shondella Lynette Silas will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Mr. Rick Wells and Ms. Norine Silas will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
Shondella was born January 13, 1978 in Cortez, CO the daughter of Herbert Silas Jr. and Rose Ann Mills. She passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Cortez, CO at the age of 44.
Surviving Shondella are her parents; her children, Briana McCook of Cortez, CO, Nykesha May of Towaoc, CO, Bryan Ponzo Jr. of Towaoc, CO, Kazmera Ponzo of Towaoc, CO, and Donnella Silas-Moffett of Towaoc, CO; her siblings, Alexandra Silas of Towaoc, CO, Conrad Silas of Towaoc, CO, Janille Mills of Towaoc, CO, Sonnie Silas of Towaoc, CO, Mary Rose Silas of Ignacio, CO; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Shondella was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Florence Cuthair, Bancroft Silas, and Herbert Silas Sr; her maternal grandfather, Paul Taylor; her great grandmother, Margaret Lopez Taylor; her grandmother, Rose Mary Mills; her aunts, Andrea Silas, Mary Jane Hight-Kay, Cynthia Silas; her uncles, Freddy Bancroft, Lucas Silas, Herbie Silas, Lester Posey, Lonnie Dutchie, Henry Mills; and her cousins, Robin Frost, Stanley Frost, Sarissa Wall, Raquel Frost, Mariah Silas.
