SHERRI GAY YATES Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Sherri Gay Yates will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12 at the Arriola Bible Church. Mr. Joel Jarrett will be officiating. Sherri was born on January 31, 1947 in Lexington, Ky. the daughter of Carl Elwood and Hazel (Ellis) Lytle. She passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home in Cortez at the age of 67. Surviving Sherri are her beloved husband of 50 years, Bobby Yates of Cortez; her adoring son, Ellis Yates; daughters-in-love, Angela Cutting Yates and Tonya Duran Yates; precious grandsons, Bradey Yates, Wyatt Yates, and Zane Yates all of Cortez; her mother, Hazel Pennock and husband, Dan of Cortez; her mother-in-law, Vivian Yates of Prescott, Ariz.; her brothers, Gene Lytle and wife, Billie of Cortez and John Lytle and wife, Harriett of Ganado, Ariz.; and her sisters-in-law, Wanda (Yates) Davis and husband, Bill of Espanola, N.M. and Sandra (Yates) Pennington and husband, Jerry of Chino Valley, Ariz.; as well as nephews, nieces and their families. Preceding Sherri in death are her father, Carl Lytle; father-in-law, Joe Yates; and her beloved son, Rob Yates. Memorial contributions can be made in Sherri's memory to Hospice of Montezuma. P.O.
