Shelley Jo Garcia

Shelley Jo (Vitale) Garcia died at home on January 31, 2015 just two days before her 63rd birthday. She had courageously fought cancer finally entering hospice care in December. Shelley was attended in her final days by her life partner Steve Frank, who walked the path with her lovingly and alone until hospice became involved. He was with her when she died. Steve will miss the perfect match they were together. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Debie Montoro (John) and nephew Seth; her brother, Brad Vitale (Kari) and nieces Kelli and Sammi; sister Lauri Skala (Everett); Aunt Dixie Green (Greg); Aunt Berniece Collas ; Uncle Reverand James Cox (Ruth) and the numerous cousins and myriad friends scattered across the United States. Shelley had many occupations over the years, but her heart was in connecting her inner child with those of young children and pets. She often provided face painting services to children at events in the area. She had a love of local history, fishing, camping, swimming, traveling, cooking, fashion and spending time with Steve and their friends. One of her favorite things was to share sumptuous meals she had prepared with friends. Shelley was preceded in death by her father Thomas Vitale, her mother Charlotte (Cox) Vitale her grandparents as well as some dear friends she lost over the years. At her request there will be no formal services. Her loved ones simply request that you keep her alive in your hearts and assist Steve at this difficult time in any way possible.
