SHARON LEE THAYER Funeral services for Dolores, Colo. resident, Sharon Lee Thayer will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29 at Mountain View Baptist Church. Cremation will follow. "Her chains are gone. She's been set free, her God, her Savior has ransomed her." After a long, hard battle our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Sharon Lee Thayer was called home Monday, November 24, 2008 at her home in Dolores, Colo. surrounded in the love of family and friends. The radiant smile that she always wore could light up any room. The twinkle in her eyes were a burst of pure sunlight. She lit up the lives of everyone she met and the lasting impression made each of us feel loved. Sharon Lee was born to Bob and Frances Price in Delta, Colo. on May 2, 1957. She grew up and learned her energetic love of life on their farm in Pea Green with her older sister and three cousins, Jill, Tamara, and Jackie. She was a devoted wife and mother. On January 3, 1980 she married the love of her life, Allan Thayer. Her son, Shawn was born in 1985 and her daughter, Kristen was born in 1995. Her children were her whole life. Sharon loved children and animals, especially her cats. She was extremely talented in so many areas: cake decorating, flower arranging, and scrapbooking to name a few. Her greatest gift was in touching lives with her love as was evident with her church family. Surviving Sharon are her husband, Allan; her son, Shawn; and her daughter, Kristen; as well as her mother, Frances Price all of Dolores; her sister, Susy and husband, David Wilson and their children; her nephew, Tony and his wife, April and their daughter, Shannon; and her niece, Jenny and her husband, J.D. Robinson all of Spring Creek, Nev. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Sharon Thayer to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 29119, Phoenix, AZ 85038. Services are under the direction of Ertel Funeral Home, Cortez. For further information or to send condolences, log on to www.ertelfuneralhome.com and click on the obituary section.
