SARA “SUSIE” HARNSBERGER PERKINS Funeral services for Sara “Susie” Harnsberger Perkins will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 30 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor David Dahl will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Wednesday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Susie was born on December 20, 1924 in Lindsay, Okla. the daughter of Edward Wesley and Jake (Gillis) Harnsberger. She passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2004 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. On April 29, 1954 Susie married Merlin Grover Perkins in Lakewood, Calif. She held the position of head baker with the Tustin, Calif. School District until her retirement. Susie and Merlin moved to the Mancos Valley in 1984. She loved to sew, collect antiques and cook. Surviving Susie are her husband of 50 years, Merlin Perkins of Mancos; her son, Scott B. Perkins also of Mancos; two grandsons, Ryan and Randy Evans; great grandchildren, Austin Evans and Kailee Evans; her niece, Coleen Moana McKinzie-Greer and husband, Ned of Marvel, Colo., and numerous cousin, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Two sons, Michael and Roger Evans preceded Susie in death. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Sara “Susie” Perkins with the Mancos Valley Bank.
