Memorial services for Santana Nicole Smith will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Empire Chapel.

Santana was born on June 24, 1985 in Bluefield, WV. The daughter of Chantho Dang and Tammy Jean Johnson. Santana passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the age of 37.

Surviving Santana are her husband Adonis L. Smith Jr.; Mother, Tammy Hazlewood of Towaoc, CO.; Father, Chantho Dang of Lowell, Mass.; children, Kobe Thompson, Kimara Thompson, Cassidy, Thompson, Camryn Thompson, K'Miyah Thompson and K'Mora Thompson all of Towaoc; Aunt, Eva Yazell (Maleh) of Winston Salem, NC; Uncle, Roy Johnson Jr. of Towaoc, CO.; friend, Tara Keener of Winston Salem, NC; and half-brother, Eric Hazlewood of Virginia Beach, VA. Santana was preceded in death by former spouse Robert Thompson; and brother, Joshua Michael Hazlewood.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
