SALLY MAY WAYMAN Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Sally May Wayman will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 9 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Bishop Tim Lanier will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Sally was born September 22, 1937 in Blanding, Utah the daughter of John and Irean (Black) Voelter. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the age of 75. On October 12, 1955 in Aztec, N.M. Sally married Stuart Wayman and to this union a son, Steve, and a daughter, Debra, were born. Sally had a love of music and joined in sing-a-longs at Vista Grande. She also loved to dance including square dancing. Sally enjoyed bowling and being outdoors especially when she was fishing. Sally is survived by her son, Steve Wayman and wife, Kim of Cortez; her daughter, Debra Fischer and husband, Jack of Mesa, Ariz; her four grandsons, Ward Fischer of Germany, Jason Wayman of Cortez, Kevin Wayman of Grand Junction, and Darren Wayman of Denver; her five great grandchildren; and her sisters, Connie Leigh of Cortez, Clyda Auston of Texas, and Leslie Kay Goddard of Cortez. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irean Voelter; and her husband, Stuart Wayman.
