RUTHELLEN POLLAN Memorial services for Blanding, Utah resident, Ruthellen Pollan will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 28 at the Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding. Ruthellen was born on January 9, 1941 in Bronx, N.Y. to Robert and Harriet (Morganstein) Pollan. She passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home in Cortez at the age of 63. Ruthellen received her Masters degrees in Fine Arts and in Education. She spent her career as a Professor of Art, and Chairman of the Art Department at the College of Eastern Utah – San Juan Campus. Teaching at the college level was something Ruthellen truly enjoyed. Above all, however, she adored and loved her family and friends. Surviving Ruthellen are her father, Robert Pollan of Cortez; her children, Mark Solomon of Cambridge, Mass., and Eric Solomon and wife, Carol of Greenlawn, N.Y. She leaves her grandsons, Jeremiah Solomon, Harry Solomon, Max Solomon, and Sam Solomon; as well as her brother, Stephen Pollan of New York. Preceding her in death was her mother, Harriet. Several memorial funds have been set up for donations to be sent in Ruthellen's memory. Contributions can be sent to Hospice of Montezuma, 1345 S. Broadway, Cortez, Colo. 81321; in her name at Zion's National Bank for a scholarship fund at College of Eastern Utah – San Juan Campus; or to the San Juan Hospital Mobile Mammography Unit, PO Box 308, Monticello, Utah 84535.
