Ruth Smoot

RUTH SMOOT Ruth Smoot was born on August 19, 1913 in Dolores, Colo. to Philip Runck and Annie Elizabeth (Marsh) Runck. She passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at her Dolores home at the age of 98. Surviving Ruth are her children, Philip Belt of Cortez, Ramona Burnett of Polson, Mont., Barbara Palmer of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sharon Awdish of Dolores, Colo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Smoot; her parents; her daughter, Doris McLain; and her siblings, William Runck, Roger Runck, and Mildred Beck. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 3ABN "Three Angels Broadcasting Network", c/o Cortez Seventh Day Adventist Church, 540 W. Fourth St., Cortez, Colo. or Hospice of Montezuma, PO Box 740, Cortez, Colo. A joint memorial service will be held for Ruth and her sister, Mildred Beck, on Saturday, September 24 at 4:30 p.m. at the Cortez Seventh Day Adventist Church.
