RUTH F. GUILLET Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Ruth Guillet will be held at 10am on Monday, August 29, at the United Methodist Church. On August 24, 2011 Ruth passed away in the loving arms of her family at home. Ruth was born on July 24, 1918 in Gooding, Ida. to Louis Anderson Fossum and Myrtle May (Stevenson) Fossum. On December 20, 1941 Ruth married Adelbert LaFette Guillet in California. She was a member of P.E.O. as well as a longtime member of the Methodist Church where she participated in multiple Bible study groups. In her spare time, Ruth loved music and going to concerts. She also enjoyed reading and was a member of several book clubs. Surviving Ruth are her children, Joan Ruble and husband, Larry of Colorado Springs, Colo., Del Guillet and wife, Barbara of Dolores, Betsy Phillips of Cortez, Laurie Banks and husband, Bill of Cortez, and Marcie Guillet also of Cortez; her grandchildren, David Ruble and wife, Melissa of Colorado Springs, Colo., Nicole Anderson and husband, Dirk of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jason Guillet and wife Becky, of Bayfield, Colo., Holly Rotsaert and husband, Skip of Cortez, Kori Phillips and wife, Amy of Willow Springs, N.C., John Phillips and wife, Burgundy, Jennifer Yench and husband, Judd, and Kristen Banks all of Cortez, Nathan Banks and wife, Ranota of Aztec, N.M. and Jeramie Hawkins and wife, Heather Lewis, of Cortez; and 20 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Doris Coleman; her great-grandchild, Brendan Rotsaert; and her son-in-law, Bill Phillips. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez or to Hope's Kitchen.
