RUTH EMILY BIGNELL Memorial services for Ruth Emily Bignell a resident of Mancos will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Barr Chittick of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Ruth was born the daughter of Adam and Mary (Parker) Paffenroth in Goshen, N.Y. on February 24, 1933. She passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Durango, Colo. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the age of 77. On December 5, 1999 Ruth married James William Bignell in Bradenton, Fla. The couple moved to the Mancos Valley in 2002. In her free time Ruth enjoyed researching genealogy and collecting glassware. Surviving Ruth are her loving husband, James Bignell of Mancos, Colo.; two children, Gary Lee Haber and wife, Debra of Bradenton, Fla., and Wendy Elizabeth Cooper and husband, Gary of Wilkes-Barre, Penn.; by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; by four brothers, John Paffenroth, Richard Paffenroth, Thomas Paffenroth and Robert Paffenroth; and by her sister, Joan McCarson. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and by one son, Robert Paul Haber.
