RUTH ELIZABETH HUMPHREYS Memorial services for longtime Dove Creek resident Ruth Elizabeth Humphreys will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 9 at the Dove Creek First United Methodist Church. Pastor Cherie Cobb will officiate. Ruth was born July 29, 1922 in Anaheim, Calif. the daughter of Gilbert and Hazel (Warren) Davis. She passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 94. On February 28, 1941 Ruth married Richard Percy Humphreys in Buena Park, Calif. Ruth was a devoted member of the Dove Creek First United Methodist Church, she was the church organist for 60 years. Ruth belonged to several local women's groups. She raised beautiful gardens and was a wonderful cook and baker. Ruth also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Surviving Ruth are her children, Hazel Perkins, John Humphreys and Sarah Fury (George) all of Dove Creek; and by three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and by her siblings, Richard Davis, Fredrick Davis and Eleanor Corner. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth Humphreys' name to the Dove Creek First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
