RUTH CLARA BOWEN FLEMING Funeral services for longtime Dove Creek resident Ruth Clara Bowen Fleming will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 at the Assembly of God Church in Dove Creek. Pastor Buddy Bishop will officiate. Interment will follow at Dove Creek Cemetery. Ruth was born on August 13, 1930 in Wheeler County, Tex. to Wallace and Garcie (McMurtry) Bowen. She passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. On December 10, 1948 Ruth married Willie Dallas Fleming in Aztec, N.M. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dove Creek and the Cahone Ladies Club. Ruth enjoyed embroidery, quilting and spending time at the Senior Center in Cahone. Surviving Ruth are her daughters, Opal Fleming of Blanding, Utah and Oma Fleming of Dove Creek; her siblings, Ethel Woods of Bluntville, Tenn. and Arthur Bowen of Huntsville, Tex.; her "aunt cousin" Norma Hill of Dallas, Tex.; a sister-in-law, Lucy Bowen of Bakersfield, Calif.; brother-in-law, Robert Hazen of Farmington, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Garcie Bowen; her husband, Willie Fleming; her son, Delbert Fleming; and her siblings, Valley Gifford, Francis Hazen, Wallace "Jr." Bowen, Margaret Hazen, Charles Bowen and Jane Archer.
