Ruth Alice Dennison Echols

RUTH ALICE DENNISON ECHOLS Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident, Ruth Alice Dennison Echols will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 10 at the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Pastor Rick Gregory will officiate. Ruth was born September 30, 1930 at McPhee, Colo. the daughter of William Willard and Cora (Hickey) Dennison. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the age of 77. Ruth was employed for 16 years as a cook for Head Start. She gave her time as a Gold Star Mother and in her free time she enjoyed fishing. She loved lemon pie and ducks. Surviving Ruth are her four sons, Douglas Kit Nelson of Cortez, Keith Tilton of Stratford, Tex., Sonny Joe Echols of Delta, Colo., and David Weaver Echols of Cortez; and by ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Howard Lynn Bartley and Tasha Kaiser; and two brothers, Howard Dennison and Ray Dennison.
