RUPERT LYNN WHITESKUNK Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Rupert Lynn Whiteskunk will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. Lowell Whiteskunk will officiate. Rupert was born on May 2, 1965 in Cortez, the son of Frank Whiteskunk Sr. and Nora Mills. He passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 42. On July 15, 2006, Rupert married Regina Lopez in Towaoc. He was a proud graduate of Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah in 1984. Rupert loved playing basketball, running, reading, taking long walks, and spending time on computers. He was a wonderful friend to all. Rupert dearly loved his family. Surviving Rupert are his wife, Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk of Towaoc; his children, Josiah Gates Lopez, Cherice Jade Lopez, Shaelynn Colorow Whiteskunk, Marquez Lopez, Francine Whitedirt, and Jacoby Whitedirt, all of Towaoc; and his siblings, Orville Whiteskunk of Oklahoma, Jeffrey Whiteskunk of Towaoc, Selwyn Whiteskunk of Dolores, Ronald Whiteskunk of Oklahoma, Frank Whiteskunk and Frayne Whiteskunk, both of Towaoc, Lowell Whiteskunk of Cortez, Cynthia “Donna” Sharidan of Oklahoma, Willapat Whiteskunk of Towaoc, Valentina Begay of Grand Junction, Colo., Francilla Whiteskunk-Lucero of Albuquerque, and Vodne Chapoose of Ft. Duchesne, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Avery Whiteskunk.
