Ruby Jean Edwards

RUBY JEAN EDWARDS Memorial services for Ruby Jean Edwards, 67 of Cortez, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Ruby was born January 18, 1940 in Monte Vista, Colo., the daughter of Jesse Berl and Grace Alma (Corrie) Davison. She passed away at her home in Cortez on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. As a young woman, Ruby came to the Cortez area with her parents and family. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the banking industry for a number of years. An artistic and talented woman, Ruby was known for her photography, stained glass work and painting. She also enjoyed sewing and all types of crafts. Surviving Ruby are her son, Charles Allen Edwards of Cortez; two granddaughters, Kathryn Elizabeth Edwards of Mancos and Jennifer Lynn Edwards of Big Springs, Texas; great granddaughter, Ffion Barber of Mancos; step grandchildren, Joshua Wauswick, Rachel Thompson and Robert Wauswick; and step great grandson, Ayden Odell. Ruby is survived by two brothers, Melvin Davison and wife, Vee of San Antonio, Texas and Charles Davison and wife, Mary of Reedley, Calif.; and three sisters, Ferry Roberts of Cortez, Grace Morris and husband, Walter of Portland, Tenn., and Janet Hatch and husband, Emer of Cortez. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Corrie Edwards; her parents; two brothers, Clarence Davison and Robert Davison; and one sister, Mary Amelia Hull.
