RUBY FRANCES HARMON Funeral services for Cortez resident, Ruby Frances Harmon will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 22 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Reverend Ron Horne will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday morning at the Ertel Chapel from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m. Ruby was born on May 14, 1914 in Eufalla, Oklahoma to daughter of Levi and Martha (Potter) Vanderpool. She passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. Surviving Ruby are her only beloved daughter, Bettie Miller of Cortez; daughter-in-law, Joann Nichols of Farmington, N.M.; her brother, Eldee Vanderpool and wife, Vollie of California; her grandchildren, Candy Tidwell and husband, Tommy of Tulsa, Okla., Rick Miller and wife, Patti of Littleton, Colo., Debbie McCracken and husband, Irl of Austin, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren. Her step-son, Bill Taylor; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family; and many friends survive Ruby. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Leon Nichols, William Taylor and Laurel Harmon; her son, David Nichols; son-in-law, Herbert Miller; five brothers, two sisters; and one grandson, Tim Nichols.
