RUBY DOYEL Funeral services for longtime area resident Ruby Doyel will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 11 at Cortez Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Peel Cemetery. Mr. Ramon Brown will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Monday morning one hour prior to the funeral service. Ruby was born on April 3, 1919 in Washita, Okla. the daughter of George Homer and Mary Lois (Duncan) Darden. She passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 90. On November 13, 1937, Ruby married Raymond Roys Doyel in Washita, Okla. Surviving Ruby are her daughters, Carolyn Christy of Phoenix, Ariz., Katherine Cole and husband, Gary of Albuquerque, N.M., Phyllis Wright and husband, Roger of Grand Junction, Colo., Marilyn Doyel of Spring Branch, Tex., and Melanie Randolph of Debeque, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and her sister, Janet Akers of Tulare, Calif. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Raymond Doyel; by her son, Jack Doyel; and by her son-in-law, Darrell Christy.
