RUBIN FRANCIS YOUNG Memorial services for longtime Dove Creek resident Rubin Francis Young will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 19 at the Dove Creek Community Center. Private interment services will take place. Francis was born October 2, 1937 in Clovis, N.M. to Robert Elree and Zelma (Loffland) Young. He passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 76. On August 22, 1960 in Cortez, Francis married Edna Marie Maness. They shared 53 years of marriage. Francis was a miner, mechanic and farmer for many years. He was a talented musician and loved playing and singing. Francis loved to talk to people and was always ready to tell a joke. Restoring old cars and tractors is a hobby that brought him much enjoyment. Francis also loved to hunt, fish and trap. Although, spending time with his family was what brought him the most enjoyment. Francis is survived by his wife, Edna Marie Young of Dove Creek; children, Dan R. Young and wife, Marilyn of Cahone Mesa, Utah, Rodney G. Young of Dove Creek, Buddy A. Young and girlfriend, Summer Davis of Dove Creek, Ray L. Young and wife, Billie Jo of Bloomfield, N.M., Charlet M. Johnson and husband, Michael of Cortez, Leona J. Halls and husband, Chris of Monticello, Utah, Wayne R. Young of Dove Creek, and Kathy S. Bussard and husband, John of Dove Creek; sisters, Mary Watkins of Dove Creek and Dorothy Holiday of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Robert Young and wife, Ocia of Dove Creek; and 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Zelma Young. Memorial contributions can be made to the Francis Young Memorial Fund at the Community Bank of Colorado, Dove Creek.
