Roy Lee Mitchell

ROY LEE MITCHELL Roy Lee Mitchell was born on June 3, 1945 in Burns, Colo. to Luther M. and Rosella Blanch (Claycomb) Mitchell. He passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 66. Roy worked for Rathjen Construction for several years, as well as C & J Gravel in Durango, Colo. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed team roping. Surviving Roy are his children, Roland Mitchell of Rifle, Colo., Nanette Ancho and husband, Jim of Battle Mountain, Nev., Rena Hinchey and husband, Chris of England, Lee Mitchell of Sheridan, Wyo., Shayne Mitchell of Eagle, Colo., Chris Long of Rifle, Colo., and Dena Allen and husband, Josh of Idaho; his 17 grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Chuck Mitchell and wife, Rita of Snellville, Georg., and Billie Jo Phillips of Cortez; his aunt, Mary Lou Veach of Cortez; his uncle, Bob Claycomb of Cortez; and many friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Rosella Mitchell; and his brother, Toby Ogg. Cremation will take place with no services planned.
