A Celebration of Life will be held for Roy Lee Huskey at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Pioneer Center in Dove Creek, CO. A potluck lunch will be enjoyed by those who join us as we celebrate Roy. Please bring a dessert or side dish and join us in sharing our memories together. Graveside Military Honors by the VFW Post 5181 will begin at 1:00 pm at the Dove Creek Cemetery.
Roy Lee Huskey, 73, passed away at his residence in Dove Creek, CO, on June 3, 2022. Roy was born September 4, 1948 in Cortez, CO, to Herbert and Florence Huskey.
Roy served in the US Army. For his service and sacrifice in the Vietnam War, Roy was awarded the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, 1 O/S Bar, the Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar (M-14) and the Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar (M-16).
Surviving Roy are his wife, April Huskey of Dove Creek, CO; his children, Dana Darrell (Elena) Huskey of Dove Creek, CO, Keith Lee (Dealila) Huskey of Dove Creek, CO, and Crystal April (Clint) Proffitt of Egnar, CO; his grandsons, Nikolas Aaron Lee Huskey, Matthew Cole Huskey, and Logan Blake Myers; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Huskey, and Morgan Renea Proffitt; his sister, Guyrene (Springmeyer) Bogner of Moab, UT; his brothers, Gary Huskey (Dana) of Montrose, CO, and Jerry (Deborah) Huskey of Cortez, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
