Roxanne Lea (Sparks) Choate

ROXANNE LEA (SPARKS) CHOATE Memorial services for Cortez resident Roxanne Lea (Sparks) Choate will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 29 at Friendship Assembly of God Church, 96 Central Ave., Dolores. Paul Houston will officiate. Roxanne was born on September 18, 1958 in San Diego, Calif. the daughter of James M. Sparks Jr. and Joyce (Rork) Santos. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her residence at the age of 50. Roxanne spent all of her free time with family and friends. She loved the Rocky Mountains and enjoyed mushroom hunting and hot springing. Surviving Roxanne are her father, James M. Sparks Jr.; her step-mother, Donna M. Sparks; and her siblings, James "Bucky" Sparks and wife, Nancy, and Brittany L. Sparks. Roxanne also leaves behind her nephews, Sam Sparks and family, and William Sparks; her niece Lenore Sparks; her step-brothers, Weston Johnson and family, Larry Johnson and family; and her step-sisters, Julie Knudsvig and family, and Rhonda Thompson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce (Rork) Santos.
