Rosie Mae Root

Funeral services for Towaoc resident Rosie Mae Root will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. A viewing will be held after the service. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
Rosie was born January 17, 1941 in Myton, Utah the daughter of Dick and Katie Pablita Trujillo (Kanapatch) McKewan. She passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at her residence at the age of 80.
Surviving Rosie are her children, David Root of Towaoc, Timothy Root of Towaoc, Valerie Root of Towaoc, Lillian Murray (Francisco Ramirez) of Towaoc, Wilbert Root Jr of Towaoc, and Rozalia Morgan of Towaoc; her sister, Gardenia Murray of Fort Duchesne, Utah; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Wilbert Root Sr.; her daughter, Illana Root Chee; and her siblings, Richard McKewan, Clara Jenkins, Kathleen Hatch and Fredrick McKewan.
