ROSE MARIE "ROSIE" VIGIL Funeral Mass for Roseville, Minn. resident and former Dolores resident Rose Marie "Rosie" Vigil will be held at noon on Saturday, February 23 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Dolores. Reverend Joseph L. Gallegos C.R. will celebrate. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery where Rosie will be laid to rest with her parents. A Rosary and visitation have been scheduled for Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Rosie was born on March 28, 1939 in Dolores the daughter of Alexander and Pascualita (Roybal) Vigil. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:40 p.m. surrounded by her family. Rosie was 68 years old. Rosie was one of 12 children born to Alexander and Pascualita. She was raised in a vibrant and busy home by all of her family. Rosie attended Dolores Elementary School through the eighth grade. She lived with her mother and father in Dolores until 1985. After the passing of both of her parents she moved to Litchfield, Minn. to live with her sister, Juanita and her husband, Dr. Gregory Olson. Rosie's brother, Rudy and his wife, Donna and family live in nearby Willmar, Minn. which provided for frequent family visits. After the passing of Dr. and Mrs. Olson in 1998, Rosie lived with Gregory and Peggy Olson. They lived in Litchfield until the fall of 1999, they then moved to the Twin Cities Metro Area, finally settling in Roseville, Minn. Her journey of life was long, wonderful and was always filled with loving, caring and supportive family and friends. Surviving Rosie are her siblings, Susan (Vigil) Valdez of Alamosa, Colo., Frank Vigil of Brea, Calif., Ruby (Vigil) Gonzales of Dolores, and Rudy Vigil of Willmar, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Joseph Vigil, Clara Vigil, Nellie (Vigil) Gallegos, Alexander Vigil Jr., Julian Vigil, Rebecca (Vigil) Davis and Juanita (Vigil) Olson.
